Illinois at Penn State
Mother nature didn't stop Penn State's game against Illinois on Saturday. The large flakes were falling three hours before kick off as the grounds crew started to plow the snow off the field. The snow continued most of the game and made for an interesting day of photographing.

Penn State Soccer
Alpha Open House
I lived two doors down from the Alpha fire house when I was a student at Penn State. I was used to the sirens at all hours of the night, and looking in the station as I walked by multiple times a day. This weekend during their annual open house that station had a different look, with all the trucks pulled outside, smokey the bear waving to passerby's and kids running around the station. The reporter and myself found how adorable it was that almost every kid there had some sort of fire truck or fire fighter apparel. From ladder truck rides to sitting in the trucks, the kids were smiles all around.

Purdue at Penn State
This weekend was Penn State's homecoming weekend. I did video for the first half of the game against Purdue, so only have stills from the second half. Here are a few of my favorites.

Soccer
This week has been full of repetitive assignments. Two homecoming parades, two political candidate forums, and two soccer games. The soccer games I found to be the most exciting and photogenic.

Rainy but bright
It was a very cold and rainy first day of October. Luckily the events I got to cover were very warm and bright in spirit.
I started the morning bright and early at a volleyball tournament then headed to the Fall Festival downtown. The annual event was full of free activities for the youngsters to promote the change in the season. They even brought in a carousel!
In addition to the festival on the street, the borough building renamed it's plaza in memory of Mayor Welch. The first event held in the plaza was one that he was working towards for the borough. Several couples were given the paper work to be part of the State College domestic partnership registry.
I then headed to the Centre County Down Syndrome Buddy Walk. This little guy was having a blast dancing with the Chick-fil-a Cow.
